Surprise!

R1 was sooooo excited when he discovered what the elves brought to him and his sister. And even MORE excited when he discovered later in the day that his best friend down the road got a set, too!

We Made Snow Globes

Over a year ago I got a box of baby food jars – no clue what to do with them. I finally got tired of looking at them and set to googling. I decided what to do with them and got the stuff and this morning the kids and I got busy:

Halfway through her attention span dwindled and she wandered off:

Here’s the finished product, well, almost. Tonight I’ll use the glue gun to put ribbon around the lids. The kids are giving these as gifts.

More Elf Gifts

Yesterday the kids woke up to David and Goliath Faith Bands and a book about Christmas.

Elves and Syrup

While the kids were out playing the elves were doing this:

A Gift from the Elves

The elves dropped this gift off for the kids yesterday. Cute little photo frame ornaments. We put pictures in them and hung them on the tree. I need to get a pic!

Frenzy and Poppy Days 2 and 4

On Day 2 Poppy went into the girls’ room and played dress up, leaving ALL of their shoes on the bed. And then she got stuck hanging from the ceiling fan.

This morning we woke up to this:

Do You Elf?

I think this will be our 3rd year having an Elf come to stay with us from Tday ’til Christmas. The first 2 years our elf was too shy to show himself but this year he is not only going to show up, he’s bring a friend! Frenzy is his name – I need a good name for his female friend, any suggestions?

Frenzy comes and reports to Santa on how the kids are behaving. He also gets into trouble and makes the kids so excited.

Some of the things he’s done in the past years are:

- write a note in Cheerios on the front porch
- toilet paper the tree
- hang R1′s undies on the tree
- paint Mr. Fox’s toenails
- hang lights in R1′s room while he was sleeping

This year we are going to have LOADS more fun since the actual elves will be here. I’ll keep you posted as we go. Right now I have to figure out a name and write a note from them so they can arrive later.

A Homeschool Thanksgiving

I’m slow on the planning here and am kind of just rolling with it but today we will start saying these T’day prayers at meals and we are making these turkeys.

I will also read the kids this story of Thanksgiving. And I’m hoping to get some books from the library later today.

I know we’ll do more crafts and I’ll post those as we go.
